The Capricornia Division of General Practice is one of many Divisions of General Practice and Medicare Locals throughout Australia, principally funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
 

We are a not-for-profit organisation, governed by a Board of Directors, which aim to improve health outcomes for patients by working with GPs and other health service providers to improve the quality and accessibility of health care at the local level.
 

Our catchment area covers over 130 General Practitioners (GPs) practising in approximately 41 general practices in the Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Gladstone areas.
 

We provide:

• activities that aim to improve the clinical care provided by GPs and assist in ensuring the effectiveness of their practice.
• a focus on the integration of health services, especially those in the primary care arena, and on the maintenance of health and wellbeing amongst local GPs.

Our staff are committed to meeting the needs of our members and actively pursue excellence in all their activities.
